Time Lasting Runescape Secret To Create An Elite Level 85 Multimillionaire Runescape Character

Writen by Roy Phay

Secret No 2: How to Make and Maintain Friends in RuneScape

If you already have a large extended family in runescape, then you can this very be even more exciting for you in runescape. If not, this secret for runescape will help you find the essential social network that makes runescape so fun. Also, you'll find that having many friends in runescape will make getting rich a whole lot easier (for a different reason that you probably think).

Runescape is very different than real life (obviously). In runescape, you will find that whatever you say will not be taken seriously at first. If you ask someone to be your runescape friend, they might assume you're a moocher and only talking because you're after their runescape items.

But having a network of friends in runescape is part of the game. Somehow training is less boring, fighting runescape dragons is less scary and PKing is ten times as fun whenever you have runescape friends nearby keeping company in runescape. But making a runescape friend in runeScape is very different than making one in real life.

The trick in runescape is to have something to do. If you like mining, start talking to runescape player while you swing your pick. If you enjoy fishing, chat with runescape player about fishing levels while you cage your lobster.

Remember, their levels don't matter to start with in runescape. As long as you both can do something and enjoy doing it, ask him or her to add you and suggest that you two be runescape friends. It's really very easy, and the more runescape friends you have the better a time you'll have in runescape.

One of the best ways to make a good, lasting runescape friend in runescape is PKing. If you like to PK then find someone in runescape around your level. Ask them to team up (make sure they don't backstab you!) and after you get your first kill together you'll have a Runescape friend for life in runescape.

Another thing: if you're selling an item to a runescape player and it's a fair price (it should be), then don't hesitate to chat about stuff outside of the trade about runescape. You might find that you'll make a lasting runescape friend this way – not to mention a reliable buyer in the long run in runescape.

Make sure, however, that you don't expect anything from them. Sure, Runescape friends do favors for each other, but make sure you don't require them to. The most common mistake that screws up Runescape friendships is one person demanding something from the other just because "he's a friend in Runescape." This is a serious no-no: don't act desperate and don't be a leech, and you'll have your friends list filled up in no time in Runescape.

Microsoft Has A Plan For The Xbox 360

Writen by Ron Swerdfiger

In an interesting article from Fool.Com entitled "Why the Xbox 360 Is a Loser," author Seth Jayson points out that the Xbox 360 is costing Microsoft big money. The article discusses how the Xbox 360 is part of a much larger plan that, if successful, will eventually lead to profits.

It is no secret; Microsoft is losing money and lots of it on the Xbox 360. Microsoft's home-and-entertainment division has already lost $293 million on $1.57 billion in sales. And as Jayson points out, the more popular the console becomes, the greater the loss.

"Make no mistake: For now, and for the foreseeable future, the Xbox 360 is going to cost Microsoft money. The consoles are sold at a loss, and the costs of launching the new system will continue to grow. The more popular the Xbox 360 becomes, the bigger the losses will be." commented Seth Jayson in his article.

The reason being is two fold. Microsoft is in a "marathon, not a sprint" to beat Sony (PS3) and more importantly, to be #1 in the yet undefined home media PC market.

Down the road Microsoft will be able to build revenue from video game sales, entertainment purchases, license fees, Internet advertising, and revenue from developing products for your living room

But for the time being, the loss has investors wondering if the media giant is moving in the right direction.

Only time will tell whether-or-not the long term plan will pay off. To be successful, Microsoft will have to depend on many factors, with one of the most important being, plenty of 3rd party support.

Mmog Currency Revolution

Writen by Ruibo Chen

MMOG currencies was first introduced from the popular game EverQuest (EQ) with their currency "platinum", also known as "plat". Since the first pioneers of selling plats on Ebay, many have argued and frowned upon those that have ever purchased plats online. I recall many players harassing others with foul names such as "newb" and "ebayer". It has been over 5 years that everyone has been arguing whether the secondary market of trading MMOG money would ever be accepted.

Since the introduction of EverQuest platinum, there were probably more than 70% of players that wouldn't even consider purchasing plats and discriminated against those who did. As of today, the numbers have been reduced extraordinarily. About 40% of the players now purchase currencies, 30% still disliking the idea and 30% of the other players probably does not care too much and may purchase some them selves in the near future.

Although online game currency is still a new trend to the online gaming community, it is getting popular at a very hasty rate. Within the end of 2010, I believe even the publishers themselves will support the foundation of the secondary market. Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) have now begun their own EverQuest 2 gold auction system and planning to start a new MMORPG in which they intend to sell currencies and items themselves. With their support, I'm sure the secondary market will be accepted over a period of time.

The secondary market is only as successful as the primary. With the release of World of Warcraft (WoW), there are now more than 4.5 million subscribers. A vast majority of those players are probably new to the MMORPG world. A large increase of subscribers means alot more potential for the secondary market. So far, WoW gold has been the hottest seller of the year and perhaps a few more years down the road. With the huge demand on, many players have even started a career in which they collect money, items and other virutal assets and sell them to players or to stores who may buy them at wholesale price and resell it back to individuals.

The secondary market one day may even be bigger than the primary. Many gamers of today probably spend more on buying currencies, items and equipments than their subscription fee. The publishers themselves can't even deny the fact that there are lots of money to be made in the secondary market that over a vast period of time I'm sure they will be selling their virtual assets themselves. As for whether the players will support it or not, I believe is just a matter of time before acceptance, of course there will always be a few who will dislike the idea.

Games Cheat

Writen by Toni Schneider

Games Cheat

Another name for game cheats would be cheat codes. The original purpose of the games cheat was to allow developers and beta testers to be able to get to a specific area and not have to start the games over all the time. It was then also an option if a player got to a difficult place in the games and could not advance, the option was available to use the games cheat to advance and go on with the game. Some game cheats would open up new sections, hidden areas, or other types of bonus features. For our article we are going to take a look at the games cheat in reference to online gaming.

If you have ever played games online the odds are you have run into someone cheating. This would be especially true if the game does not include some kind of anti-cheat program. In simple terms cheating is "modifying the game to gain an unfair advantage over the other players. It is at this point we would like to point out that most developers do not build the games cheat into multiplayer games for this reason.

There is a big debate among gamers on what a real cheat is and what isn't. Some feel that only such things as a aimbot is a games cheat but custom skins, and settings that enhance performance is not. Still others feel that it doesn't matter a cheat is a cheat. For example in one game a video card with a specific video driver will not show fog or it lets you actually see through walls. Some feel that is more than adjusting settings while others feel it's not their fault so it's perfectly ok to use that advantage. Then there was a game that had a flaw in it when you also were running MS Messenger. Both these were not intentionally built into the game by developers. Others however felt this was more than adjusting your gamma, brightness and other settings to improve performance so they were game cheats.

There are two other ways of cheating. These two almost everyone in the online gaming community, feel are definitely a games cheat. The first is an exploit.

With an exploit a bug is found on a specific level or game map. The developers didn't purposely include them, but once found they are very quickly used as a games cheat. Examples would be a hole in a game that would allow you to kill other players but never be hurt or killed yourself. It could have been a piece of code that accidentally got left in the game. These may have been used by the designers for a specific purpose. Sometimes these exploits will be addressed with update patches, but many times they will stay as the developers feel they are not a high priority.

Hacked files, trainers, aimbots, are other forms of a games cheat. These type of game cheats are mostly the work of people who are adept at coding or programming. The reason for this is this games cheat entails modifying game and or driver files. These modified files are then loaded directly into memory in which case they by-pass the game itself.

So the ultimate decision is based on your own definition of a games cheat as to if you are cheating or not. However it should be mentioned that if you are playing on-line and the rest of the players feel it is cheating you should discontinue what you are doing. Just out of courtesy for others. This way everyone can enjoy the game and this is what the developers did intend.

Does The Sims Online Host The Mafia

Writen by Karen Peralta

A Neo-Mafia may be using The Sims Online as a chat room and indoctrinating teenage kids into it. Several people on the game agreed rationally that the mob may be using to lure teenage kids into the real Mafia. Some, in defense of the game, said no, it is a bunch of teenage kids having whoopies and do not get worried. Those people are often game addicts and love TSO a lot. They say they do not get into trouble.

And some people said, Maxis, Mafia, who knows. Maybe Maxis is just making money from the woes of those who play TSO and then leave.

I have blown quite a few people away with this story (pun intended.) Also, this is not a fiction story, and finally, I am an ocasionally investigative journalist who has won a few awards. You have probably never heard of me.

THE SIMS ONLINE HOSTS THE MAFIA

If I told you this, would you believe me? Try doing so, because it is the truth. And also, in this strange and perverse world, young people are busy killing each other at an alarming rate. Do we really need something like a pseudo Mafia causing the same sorts of problems? Gangsterism, in other words, on the beloved video games of our children?

According to Wikipedia, the foremost Web online encyclopedia, ever since 9/11 the FBI has not had much in time or resources to handle organized crime, and there has been a sudden resurgence in its activities.

Right now, the online game The Sims Online-- which is labeled a T for Teens game -- has been overrun by several obviously Mafia named families. These people do not seem to have enough imagination to be Mexican Mafia, Chinese Mafia or Japanese Mafia (yet), which also exist in real life. They are both very aggressive and very obvious.

Whether or not they are the real Mafia is a question which I cannot answer. They may be a bunch of errant teenage boys and girls – but ones with some very eclectic adult tastes and also many violent and weird high tech tendencies. You should see the Playboy style icons they paste on top of their houses from certain views of the TSO video game.

I cannot tell who is to blame for that, adults or kids. And that sort of thing is not something you can ordinarily get as a regular player of that particular video game. Something is up with that, something way too mysterious.

And one thing these kids, if they are kids, really do, even though it is to virtual and not real houses: they trash the paid-for beautiful properties of their fellow gameplayers. The kinds of properties that people would like to build, taking a lifetime to achieve. Gorgeous, sprawling mansions you cannot own in real life, the kind that are totally out of reach for the vast majority of people.

Some people have been playing The Sims Online for years. Maybe you think they are weird, maybe you think they are no one to feel sorry for. Maybe you are even rooting for the pseudo Mafia. But not me. I had real friends going on that game, and slowly but surely somebody began destroying our Sims houses, and all of our prized possessions on that game. To the point where no one could tell if it was part of the game, or something far worse.

I happen to have another friend (an entirely different situation) who was screwed over for $15,000 real life dollars when he tried to sell some photographs and they were more or less taken from him. Is that a good thing to do to someone? And is it a good thing to interrupt a high tech, presumably decent enough game involving minor adult activity and corrupt it still further? So far as I can tell, some money is going out that way on TSO too — in real life.

I am so tired, I do not know. Values are very hard to gauge in life, anyway.

To green up on The Sims Online at all, or to keep your simulated character alive and kicking, it forces you to do interactions that are rather similar to bestiality (wrestle with your dog, but you should see what it looks like if you really see it) and that is bad enough, but rather bearable. Sigmund Freud would have told us that such behavior is relatively normal, that having an orgy session involving heavy petting with your own puppy where it loves you and licks your face and you are all over each other is fun. Also, there is sexy dancing, heavy kissing and hugging, and so forth, which works for most people -- including twelve year old kids.

This is all done with your fellow characters, real life people in the game whom you can become acquainted with, work with, and even marry. The marriages are not legal of course, and tend to dissolve fairly quickly. I also found out that you can pay, with real money, for virtual acts of prostitution on that game -- a T for Teens game. Recently I have found out that what they call kiddy porn has definitely become involved in that game, too. There are children selling kissing and hugging sexual favors there, and they have access to nude skins on the naked characters. Somehow, this doesn't seem like proper "fun" for teenage kids to me.

And it is not fun, also, to come home one day to having your hard won, worked for skills, games, store or money house trashed by unknown people -- while your town is crawling with De Corleoni Territori, the Italian Mafia Empire, The Vito Family Territory and so forth. I am not talking Anti-Italian Defamation. I had several Italian friends on the game, whom I now am stuck missing in my daily life. I am talking about a bunch of people either acting like the Mafia, or worse yet, actually being connected with them somehow and taking over a kiddy teen video game. Possibly, several teenage version video games. Or were they involved in the first place, and is Maxis a Mafia held game company? Look at the names. Maxis, Mafia.

When will Electronic Arts do something about the house trashing problem, for example, even though people have repeatedly complained about it? What is it exactly that they are trying to hide? Apparently not much; you can easily find the Mob everywhere on that game. And the Sims version of the cops does absolutely nothing but dress up in uniforms and occasionally threaten people. Their police threaten you if you do not cooperate with them, such as by kissing them or letting them become your roommates, but cannot do anything real to you. It has also been found that their police station involves nothing but lollygagging around and having fun. There is no attempt to stop the Mob at all. Maxis did crack down on one "house of prostitution" and kids selling sexual favors on the game once, but not very hard. I've heard there has been resurgences of such clearly illegal game activities.

It is also true that while the game is labeled T for Teens, it is connected with what appears at first to be some harmless fake gambling. The money being exchanged seems to be Simoleans at first. Fake money, which you get by working at odd jobs on the game, and you may also acquire skills so you can make more of the fake money. But there are payoffs, and you can also buy blocks of the money on EBay, roughly $15-25 for 1 million Simoleans. And you can buy rares, which people barter and pay for, such as Mystic Trees, tigers and cheetahs. The nature of the game makes it looks like you are not spending anything, like the gambling is harmless. Yet it swiftly begins to catch up with you that you are indeed spending your own very real money.

Is this what you want your teenager to be doing? For 6-10 hours a day, five-seven days a week? Eventually, obviously, after I spent about a month on the game, it was so that the money was swiftly turning real. It took about one month for me to blow about $200 in real life dollars on that game. I was getting seriously addicted.

Okay, video addiction is bad enough, but we are talking about Organized Crime here as well. Remember a little place called Columbine High School? What if there is some sort of eerie connection to that sort of business? I had to join this game to find out, kind of as a lark, but I did some real exploring too.

The "Mafia" is in and roughly controlling every town that I have visited on The Sims Online, and I have reasonably checked them all over. Dans Grove, Jolly Pines, Blazing Falls, Alphaville. The Mafia is...everywhere.

I have talked to these Mafia gentlemen and ladies, and visited their houses. They do not have very much to do at them but the usual Sims stuff. I am afraid they have discovered game cheats, and being bored, they are using them to destroy other game player properties. And yes, I have evidence, not hard unfortunately, that they have watched people play the game from a distance. One of them knew about something he should not have known. And another friend of mine who regularly plays video games has noticed these tendencies toward having strange game powers that other players do not have in yet other video games. He says it is pretty common. Hackers, he calls it, but in the TSO case, it is hitting a little too close to home.

For example, a very realistic gay bashing was set up right in front of me. I rode it out, but I had to comfort the gay being bashed. Of course, it was his simulated character, not he/she who was hurt. TSO is real people playing games. I am not gay, but it was getting a little peculiar that such stuff is allowable on a T for Teens video game. I was more than a little confused, embarassed and hurt. There had been a threat to bash me as well, which was at least not carried out. I somehow escaped it.

A lady in fun did fire a game Civil War cannon at me, in private, and this Mafia guy named Riccardo knew that it had happened. I do not think she told him about it. How did he know? She did it for laughs, and it was a harmless game event (I peed my pants as the game character, and it seemed okay), but it is not very funny that he knew about it. I did not exactly care, and it was sort of humorous. He could not have known about it unless he had seen it happen, in all probability. And he was not anywhere on the property or onscreen at the time. He had an obvious private view of it going on. The lady was a friend of mine and I did not mind the harmless cannon. But I certainly minded that invisible people knew all about what was going on.

That meant Riccardo there could probably observe sex acts with kids characters on the game, either. But I seriously doubt that he had any interest at all in stopping them. As to policing them, I suppose there would be problems with that, too.

The same Mafia dude, who kept denying he was Mafia -- while dressed in an obvious game-style Mafia suit and with the name Riccardo -- also told me you cannot trash houses unless you are a roommate or the home owner. This should indeed be the case; it involves building permissions. But one of the house trashing victims had no roommates whatsoever. And she was not motivated to trash her house, as no insurance money is involved.

The game definitely has its better aspects, though. Game players on this game can be quite friendly. I made a lot of good friends doing things like making pizzas, opening up my own skills house business, doing minor gambling (legal for adults and I am over 40) and in general -- partying. You can play high tech, beautiful looking musical instruments and feel like you are there. It is a great game. You should see some of the wild and crazy characters on this game! Or should you?

Well, I can not play it myself anymore. I quit the game solely because of the extremely heavy Mafia presence that was starting to visit my house and breathe hotly down my neck. That, and the game was cutting into my work routine as a full-time writer quite a little bit, too.

First, Riccardo showed up. Out of nowhere, after I had used the usual Maxis device to screen all apparent Mafia members out of my house. He showed up at my house. The same day the house of my friend was trashed. It was the second such trashing since I had started playing there. Obvious Mafia guy, obviously scouting me. For membership, or for house bashing? He denied everything completely. This was after two such houses had been trashed.

Want to know anything about terrorism? Now I know what it is. A little too thoroughly for my tastes. The Mob was making it obvious that I could be next. Why is that exactly? And what sort of next would it be, real, or simulated game activity? These people looked capable of tracking down my actual home computer IP address, my ISP -- and finally, my real life house. They seem to have the technology...

...yeah, they are just a bunch of teenagers who like to trash houses...they are not the real Mafia, they are just kids...I heard a lot of that from people both on and off the game, even my fellow writers. Harmless kids. With Playboy symbols on the roofs of their game houses, very obviously the kind adults use. Mere "kids."

Like the ones at Columbine? That bunch called themselves The Trenchcoat Mafia. What is it with teenage kids and the Mob nowadays? Bad influence from gangsta rap?

Perhaps boredom with what the Sims had to offer, or a lack of desire to wait for the further events? We had chat rooms going, and Eminem (might be the real one from rap music, somebody on the game claimed it actually is the rapper dude, who knows) was there, helping to build a SimBall stadium. So people could play SimBall on the game. Some guy called Eminem, and he wanted to build us a ball stadium. What if the pseudo Mafia decides to trash that, too? Em there might have been trying to do something real and good for a change. Dunno. And I heard about the house of a man also being trashed in Jolly Pines, so it is obvious they do not do it only to women or just to my own coincidental female friends.

But all I could finally do was flee. The game was cutting too deeply into my own personal life anyway, as sour grapes as that sounds. I quit playing the game for good. I do not feel much like a grownup after that. I feel rather like an inebriated cipher. I learned later that it is a major punishment in the Sims Mafia to get a member to erase their character or all of their characters and property -- that is, if you are already a Mob member. I was only glad to get our of there before I was "erased" by someone else. And my daughter was equally glad to stop playing the game, as she found it was getting boring anyway trying to elude the Mob.

Parents, watch the video games your teenagers are playing. You might turn around and suddenly find you have a genuine Neo Mafiosi for a teenage daughter or son, in your Real Life. I know that now. You might think I am crazy, but I am not. A man told me recently he has been finding kids that stay all day on those games. I am not the only nutty parent here who is getting worried. I think something like Columbine could swallow our kids alive, alarmist as that may sound, through video games.

The Sims Online is conceivably the haven for a slinking beast with no better name than the Neo Mafia: My New Family. And for the last time, if you are Italian, I am not picking on you. I am worried about you instead. And do you need to be affiliated with these mysterious strangers, who maybe think all organized crime is still from Italy? Are you, like me, a parent? Ma fia? Neo ma fia? Oy gevaldt, as the Jews say, on such a New Family!

Yes, parents, that is what it means in Italian-American. My new family.

Still feel comfortable with the concept?

Those guys were lying to me. If so, then they are Neo Mafia. What would that mean exactly, if they have the technology to get past the normal defenses in the game and tear the houses of other players down? I was told by several people, even Riccardo, that it is not easy to do that.

"Trust me. I am only Italian. I am not a Mafia member. You must be a bigot. It is because my skin is brown. Yadayadayaday," Riccardo said. You can be whatever skin color you want to be on TSO, and either sex for that matter. Everybody kept going, it is only kids, calm down, it is only kids. Yeah, some pretty old kids with Playboy banners and slogans who like to indulge in kiddy sex trades.

First town on The Sims map: Dans Grove. First thing you see when you enter there: Italian Mafia Empire. It was a little hidden, but not very. Sort of to the South. It is obviously their beachhead, the place they originally hit.

Then they simply moved out from there. And they can hide. When you go there, to Dans Grove, you do not find very many Mafia. They seemingly moved out from there. Trouble is, they can move right back there at lightning speed. That is not doable by any regular game player without having more than one paid account on the game. How many paid accounts do these guys have? Dans Grove seems to be the seat of the Hidden Mafia Empire, altogether. Sounds exciting in a way, I guess, but no fun.

That is where they trashed the two or three houses. Or...whatever. Yes dear, it is all twelve year old kids. And my name is Uncle Auntie Em. Maybe I was a fool for ever playing it. I assumed it was just a game, and someone was being silly.

I was wrong. That game smells to the skies of actual real life payoffs, and everyone I talked to genuinely seemed to know that, one way or another. And if they chase almost everyone who is not Mafia off of the game, who is left talking to each other while presumably playing a T for Teens video game -- as a chat room?

I hope the FBI does something, but God help anybody, I do not know what. They would have to join the game to infiltrate it and actually, er, gather evidence. Gosh, that would be so going overboard for them. Maybe they could eat donuts, drink coffee, and pretend to look for terrorists instead, like the cops on the Sims do, more or less? Or maybe go bug half-crazed Black people and Native Americans from the sixties?

Sorry, I have got to admit I am finally feeling a little nuts here.

I know bloody well that if this story is ever run or promoted, people will join The Sims Online (TSO) after having read it. It is an extremely easy game to join, a free two week trial, $10 per month and bam, you are in it. This story itself works out to promoting them. Well, if you want to join the Mafia very easily, there you go.

The last I read, however, sales on the game have been slipping, and are not as high as Maxis would like them to be. Their overall projections were much higher than their actual results. But their other non-interactive Sims games, which are played mostly offline, are selling so well that Maxis can claim that The Sims 2 is the Number One selling video game worldwide. At least that is what they are claiming.

News items like riots over the War in Iraq or tales of actual real life child prostitution belittle all of this pretty much. Nonetheless, I believe that the Federal Bureau of Investigation should be looking into at least some of these teenage and kiddy video games. You can buy money on EBay to sell on that TSO game, very young kids are on that game, and they are being threatened into being recruited for the, I would assume, mostly "Sicilian" Mafia...right now...since they all keep mentioning the Italian one so much...

...the real one or the virtual one?

Who knows?

The Story Behind Opensimcity

Writen by Brett Hull

I've always liked to play SimCity since I was little. I used to play the version for Super Nintendo for hours then and then. That version was really cool. It had 4 seasons (winter, spring, summer and autumn) and many landscapes, scenarios to choose between. That was a really big hit at the time. It was clearly the most popular videogame.

Then SimCity 2000 came out on the market. It was almost like a revolution. Many new things to use, better graphics, more innovative and the game engine was more advanced. So it was very good news (except from the fact that the seasons were gone).

But the follower that came after SC2000, SimCity3000 was real disaster. Well there were more tools, advisers and a more advanced terrain (witch was crap because you couldn't build anything on it) but not anything special. The graphics was probably the worst part. It was more advanced but everything just looked as shit. It was a blur hell. I would state that this didn't feel like an upgrade more like a retarded downgrade. It was fun in 2 weeks but no more.

And after that flop, a new version was to be released, SimCity 4. This time, the MAXIS programmers learned had learned a lesson, not to release anything that isn't useful. So they did good graphics added fun tools, more effects, more unique buildings and neighboring cities. This was a small step up from SimCity 2000 but a huge step up from SC3000. This was however not intended to be a strategy-based city planning game, but more to be like a fun modeling program (like 3DMax or Maya) and creating wow effects. It was not Hey I've managed to get 1m inhabitants but more like Hey, look what a nice city I built. The game also required a new high-end computer with more than a GB of RAM, a high-end graphic card with at least 128MB an Athlon2500XP or a with Pentium 2,5GHZ to be able to play (but even that was not).

You can clearly see what have happened to one of the best game on the planet. This is not specific to just SimCity but to the whole gaming industry. The graphic wow-effect is everything that matters today. Personally, I love good graphics, but not when I have to buy a better computer to be able to use it, when I can experience a delay and when the whole game is based around that wow-effect-subject.

What will happen with SimCity5? There is rumors that they are already building it but why having expect anything of it. If SC4 was too much for my pretty new PC than I wonder how SC5 will be like. This will probably be the last version if they actually build it. Why? It will be a flop. Nobody will be able to use it. People that already experienced SC4 for will definitely not buy it. It's kinda joke already.

The solution

Lets start a new project based on opensource. Lets call it OpenSimcity.

Part two - The project

The idea is based on objective programming, OOP. This should be easy to made, easy to check bugs and adjusting the code. We will create this game from the beginning and do it better. And when I say better, I don't just mean faster performance or some new features. I mean a whole new structure, a whole new ground to stand on. This will be unique.

The graphics should be advanced but on the same time not dominate the game. It should feature a lot of options for peoples that have another kind of taste. Also, the game will probably take a few years to finish and by that time, graphics cards will be more powerful then we had ever seen before. GPU performance grows 40% per year while CPU only grows with 10%. Therefore, all graphics should be done in OpenGL to unleash power from the CPU. Real-time zooming should be possible.

Unlimited area. Instead of the idea that the user can have 3 or 4 sizes to choose between, why not customize it? The user can etc print out X (width) and Y (height) axis and get a map featuring whatever size he/she chose. The user should have the ability to change the size (increase or decrease) under the game.

Ability to choose climate. There should be an option for what year-around climate you want to have. How cold or warm and how dry or wet and so on. Also, an option if you want to have floating (changing) climates with seasons or a static climate.

More default buildings. It should be also be easy to add new buildings or remove the old ones.

The engine should not be easy, middle, hard or advanced but rather an effect of the number between 1-1000 you give.

Interface should however be an option between easy, middle, hard and advanced.

Cost and Assets should be fully customizable.

The game should feature online gaming. Competing with your neighbor cities, friends or strangers. You could etc choose to compete to X number of citizens or having as much population as possible in X time. Or it could be played for no reason, just having fun. You could also have the ability of trading lands with your neighbors.

Ability to import maps from all SimCity versions.

I can make the list longer, but you get the point. Viva la OpenSimcity.

Addiction To Online Games And How To Cure It

Writen by Andrei Podberjoskin

"When players of massive multiplayer online roleplaying games (MMORPGs) talk about ""death penalties"", they refer to the resources they lose when the character they are playing dies. Usually this can be anything from invested time, items they acquired in long play sessions or their virtual currency. Recent games, like World of Warcraft (WoW) avoid that penalty in order to make the game ""more fun"". Unfortunately it's not as easy to remove real casualties that result from those games - from suicides of addicted players to parents who neglect their children to the point they starve while they are playing World of Warcraft.

Not all stories of excessive play end that bad, but the extent of the problem is being underestimated. Those high profile cases are certainly the saddest examples of what can result from excessive play. But in regards to the people who are affected by serious online gaming addiction, they represent only the tip of the iceberg. What goes unnoticed are the thousands of stories of players who get involved in an online game to the point that they seriously neglect or even abandon school, work, friends and families. There are no statistics on the depressions that result from extensive immersion in virtual worlds. There are no statistics showing how many careers have been destroyed this way. There are no statistics showing how many divorces this has caused.

As one of the oldest MMORPGs, Everquest is still very popular with around 450,000 subscribers. A google search for ""everquest addiction"" returns 234,000 results. But it gets worse: Final Fantasy XI currently has 650,000 players and it's still growing fast. Number of results returned for ""final fantasy xi addiction""? 2,140,000. That's 10 pages for every single gamer. While not all of them are directly related to cases of addiction, it certainly shows the importance of the issue. If for every player of a game, ten feel compelled to discuss a possible addiction, it's a phenomenon that has to be taken seriously.

There are also signs in the offline world that this problem is existing and growing. In July 2006, the first detox center for gaming addicts in Europe opens in Amsterdam. More than 20 players have already been enlisted in the 8 weeks program. They range from 13 to 30 years of age, showing that this is not something that only happens to teenagers. In Canada and the US there are already multiple clinics and even in China a facility has opened already.

Families and friends of affected players are often at a loss as to how they can help them. Addicted players will often react disinterested or even aggressive when confronted with their behavior. They become socially isolated, no longer accessible to persons that used to be close to them and tend to loose interest in anything that happens outside of their game worlds. A successful anti-addiction strategy thus has to come from within.

One possible solution was unintentionally described over a hundred years ago: ""There are only two tragedies in life: one is not getting what one wants, and the other is getting it "" Oscar Wilde might have got it dead on for online gamers. Constantly struggling in their virtual world to get better equipment, more money and a higher level and looking for a way to advance faster, online gamers are usually trapped in a vicious cycle. But what happens if those challenges become obsolete? If they simply achieve those goals without effort? What if you can cheat?

Single player games have cheat codes, allowing you to bypass any difficulties of a game with a few ""code words"". Everyone who used a cheat code in a game knows, that from there on the hours of entertainment are numbered. It is simply no longer of interest to invest your time since all achievements have become meaningless. Fortunately for addicted players, this also holds true for online games. Only, there are no cheat codes. What there is though, are unintentional flaws, glitches and bugs in the games. If you know them, you can skip difficult parts, get rewards with ease and cut down on the time investment significantly. Swimming in virtual currency after a few mouse clicks tends to remove the incentive to ever spend hours again, trying to get it.

There are sites that specifically research those loop holes in order to outwit the game companies. Depending on the game someone is addicted to, they can find help. For Everquest, Final Fantasy XI and World of Warcraft exploits are by now freely available through a simple google search. If you want to help someone, compile a list of those sites. Alternatively you can use the resources provided below:

Point addicted players to those resources - chances aren't bad that they end up curing themselves. Even if the addict won't stop playing instantly, making the game less attractive for them will help you with your future efforts when you're offering help.

Unorthodox problems ask for unorthodox solutions. If you know somebody who is trapped in a virtual world, why not give it a try?"

Finding Your Identity In Online Games

Writen by Mark Ramirez

As of today, there are dozens of Massively-Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games (MMOPRG's) slated for release or in beta. It is hard to decide on which online game to play. And most of us don't have the time or money to play more then one game at a time. With all the competition, software companies need to come up with more creative ways of distinguishing themselves from each other and retaining their player base.

After all the hype from the initial release of a game subsides, what keeps players engaged in the virtual world? For one thing, the game has to be fun and must continue to be fun. Beyond that, the players need to have a sense of ownership – they need to have a tangible connection and personal investment in their online world.

Online games are an extension of our real life. What keeps us happy in the real world will often translate to what keeps us happy in the virtual world of a game. We like to feel special and have the ability to express ourselves in our own unique way. We also enjoy the freedom to choose of what we do with our possessions and time.

Customizable Characters

One of the most important aspects of a game is being able to customize the in-game character. Having a unique avatar or graphical representation helps players stand out. It is a key element that defines the identity of a player.

The latest online role-playing games let you tweak a multitude of physical including hair color and style, facial characteristics, height, weight, age, and gender. This lets players create a unique, one-of-a-kind avatar that defines them in the virtual world.

As voice chat is becoming more common in online games, players are feeling a need to customize the sound of their voice. These gamers may have spent a long time customizing the look of their avatars, why not have voices to match? Voice-changing products like MorphVOX from Screaming Bee allow these players to have a unique voice that matches their in-game character, whether they choose to be a mighty giant or space adventurer.

Opportunities to improve a character's abilities or skills are an important feature of an online game. Just as in real world, people like to have the option of changing their lot in life through self-improvement. Between gaining skills and "leveling-up", their online character continues to grow and improve.

Possessions

Another way to customize character in game is providing a variety of clothing and possessions. Just as someone can look and dress a certain way in real life, their character in game should have the option to wear variety of clothes. Unique clothing combinations provide a form of self-expression, define your character's style and allow people to find you in a crowded tavern or spaceport. And depending one's mood, it is nice to have a variety of outfits to wear for in game hunts or special events.

A game with variety of loot and goodies is a big draw for gamers. Much of the excitement and interest in online games stems from the opportunity to discover new and cool treasure. People will literally spend hours and days of their real life "camping" spots on the virtual world of a game to find the latest and greatest loot or treasure.

Having a place to call home is no different in an online world. Players appreciate games that offer player housing. Customizable player housing can be so important that the people will continue to pay monthly fees for a game that they've stopped playing in order to keep a house that they worked so hard to acquire. They may often trade property to other players for exorbitant virtual or real dollars.

Different Roles for Different Folks

Just as in real life, gamers need a purpose. After some time, all the leveling-up and acquiring new possessions can lose its luster. Online games offer professions, player driven economy, and guilds to provide players with roles and, moreover, a way of creating a virtual society.

Interdependence on other players keeps people engaged in games because they have a tangible purpose or role in the virtual world. Some choose to be merchants who sell various goods, such as food, clothing, and weapons to other players. In return they barter for money or goods. Others can choose to be part of a guild, working for a common purpose or hunting together in larger groups.

Online gamers will often form long-lasting friendships as a result of their time in these vibrant virtual societies. You may see the same players move from virtual world to virtual world as the latest online game is released. And in the real world, these same people will choose to spend time together and support each other in both good and bad times.

Going Beyond the Virtual World

The success of an online game in developing ownership can be measured by its ability to go beyond the confines of the virtual world into the personal life of a gamer. Online games haven't isolated people as some people may argue. They instead have enriched the lives of the many players who have invested time and energy into these rich worlds.

The Video Game Tester

Writen by C. Hopkins

The role of the video game tester in development primarily involves analyzing video and/or computer software to document software defects as part of a quality control process. It's a dream job for gamers. Being a video game tester is a highly technical field requiring gaming expertise, diagnostic competence, and the ability to endure long hours.

Software can take from one to three years to develop. The video game tester enters in later in the development process. Sometimes he or she enters from halfway to eighty percent into development (it starts this late because there is nothing to test) They get new builds from the developers on a schedule (daily/weekly) and each version must be uniquely identified in order to map version errors.

The video game tester gets a version and they begin playing the game. Then they must carefully uncover and note any errors. Then they are expected to uncover bugs, art glitches, logic errors, and level bugs. When a video game tester is documenting his finds he will document it in writing. Sometimes they have a harder time documenting the finds. It may take them several paragraphs to describe so a developer can find the glitch. On larger software with video game testers they must first determine whether the bug has already been reported by another tester before they can log the glitches. Then when a glitch has been reported as corrected, the video game tester has to return and verify the fix works.

Testing for the video game tester can sometimes become arduous as the tester deadlines grow closer. There comes what is commonly referred to as crunch time where developers, designers, programmers and artist work twelve to fourteen hour days and the tester must work just as hard. At this point the tester will be testing late-added features and content. Sometimes while this is happening staff members from other departments of the company may contribute and help the video game tester by testing themselves. This helps handle the large workload. All of this works in harmony as the game is brought into fruition. The video game tester is just as important as the other staff members at the game company.

Many of the console manufacturers like Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo, will require from the video game tester, video tapes of software play. This is something they ask for when they agree to publish the software. These videotapes are usually arranged and created by the video game tester. This is yet another bonus for the video game company that hires the video game tester. Once again, the video game tester plays a very important role. Without the video game tester it would be sufficiently difficult for a software company to complete the creation, production, and publication of a video game. The video game tester is integral to these processes. Many companies are looking to hire the video game tester but there are few ways for outsiders of the industry to participate as a video game tester. If you or someone you know are interested in video game testing read the author's bio for a link to one of the best options for becoming a video game tester.

Author Bio: C. Hopkins is a college professor living in Dayton, Ohio. He is an avid gamer and spends his summers away from school being a video game tester for Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo. He is using the money he makes from being a game tester to build a giant arcade for his hometown of Dayton so everyone can enjoy video games. He also recommends The Game Tester Guide www.hardworkingcommunications.com/html/untitled24.html for anyone who wants to be a game tester. C. says it is by far the easiest way to get your foot in the door of the game industry and secure a job as a game tester.

Backgammon A Time Honoured Game Of Strategy And Chance

Writen by John Gibb

The oldest recorded game in history, Backgammon is a relatively simple game that has reached wide popularity. The origins of backgammon extend into medieval history and its true roots are thought to be in ancient Rome and even Mesopotamia, over 2000 years BC.

Backgammon is a two player board game of strategy comparable to chess where each player must negotiate 15 pieces through 24 pointed sections of the board, aiming to b the first to get all their pieces off the board. The game is based on dice rolling so chance is an element but strategy comes into play with making choices and also with the many variants that exist.

The pieces are scattered and the player must get them from point to point until all of the pieces are on their side of the board. The points are numbered and the pieces can only move from high numbered points to lower numbered points, making a kind of race. The player's end of the board is called the home board and they must have all their pieces there in order to 'bear off', i.e. remove them from play and win the game.

As well as being a fun family game, Backgammon is also played in championships like Chess and sometimes for money. The rules are riddled with additional systems that vary from place to place and often extend the game or make it more strategic. For example a 'doubling cube' is sometimes used; a six sided dice with the numbers 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64 on it. This is called upon by a player seeking to double the stakes and adds to the depth of the strategy. Other recognised rules are the Jacoby Rule used more in money play and the Crawford Rule which seeks to make the game more balanced. Strategies used in Backgammon have their own names, such as the Running game, the Holding game, The Blitz, the Backgame and the Priming game. This is typical of the jargon associated with games that have a kind of inner language for serious players. Nevertheless Backgammon remains very popular with casual users and children and has been made into a variety of computer based versions.

Runescape Item Duplicator

Writen by Stephen Warren

If you've ever thought of downloading a "free" runescape item duplicator , think again.

Why? Becuase a runescape item duplicator doesn't exist anymore!

Simple as that.

A long time ago there was such a thing as a runescape item duplicator

I have no idea how it worked at all, but I do know that no such thing exists anymore.

If someone offers to give you for free, or sell you a runescape item duplicator, they are lying.

What they are probably giving you is a piece of software called spyware, it is basically used to steal your username and password and hack your account, so you'll never get any free runescape item duplicator , infact you'll probably just lose everything in your runescape account.

Not only that, but these pieces of software can steal your credit card and other information, it could even be a virus that could take over your computer. So you might end up losing yourself a TON of real life money as well if you're not careful.

I'm sure you wouldn't like that at all, I certainly wouldn't.

Not only that, but if the runescape staff catch you trying to cheat in such a way, they will ban you so fast, you're head will spin.

So if you see a runescape item duplicator being advertised, completely ignore them, they're trying to steal your account.

If you want to learn how to get really good at runescape, go to http://www.runescape-tip.com and sign-up to the free newsletter and forum to find out how.

Enjoy Your Afternoon Playing Checkers Board Game

Writen by Sky Joe

Checkers board game has a long fascinating history of more than 3000 years, which qualifies it as one of the most traditional game in civilization. The earliest checkers board was believed to have originated from ancient Egypt, which has been mentioned by Plato and Homer in 1600 BC. Then, the game pieces were known as "ferses" and the game is called "Fierges" , instead of checkers. It is believed that these games were later modified by the French to be played on a chess board during the middle ages. Thus, this is beginning of the "modern" version of the checkers board game.

Since then, the checkers board game has been played around the world and throughout recorded history. Though bridge and chess are usually played more often than checkers, it also possesses several aspects that make it a better game. Most people may find both bridge and chess are too dry and slow-moving. In addition, these games require a high level of intense concentration which is not suitable for those who can't withstand the stressful elements. In comparison, checkers board game is much easier to learn as the learning curve usually takes less than 15 minutes to master. Besides, the fast-moving game provides hours of exciting entertainment, as there is always the possibility of large changes in fortune.

In order to enjoy an afternoon of playing checkers board game, all that is needed are two players and a checkers set. Nowadays, getting a brand new set of checkers definitely will not cost more than going to the Disneyland theme park or getting a electronic game. Even if the two players are beginners, it will only another 15 minutes to learn the basic rules of the checkers board game and get used to the mechanics. The rules are few and simple to understand. By the time you finished sipping your cup of coffee, you will have all the rules at the back of your fingertips!

Ensuring Your Share Of Checkers Software

Writen by Sky Joe

If you are an enthusiastic player of checkers (otherwise known as draughts), it is very likely that you already own a copy of the checkers software. Your version may be purchased or free, depending on the features that come bundled with the software. Even if you are only an occasional player, the free edition should be quite sufficient to satisfy your appetite for a quick game of checkers. On the other hand, for serious gamers like myself, I would prefer to purchase a copy of the checkers software as the additional features are really too hard to resist!

The paid versions are usually better as they do not restrict you to the number of games that you can play, which is often the case in free versions. When you buy the checkers software online, you will have the option of receiving a disk through the mail, or downloading it directly from the manufacturer's web site. If you choose the latter, you will be able to start playing the game as soon as you complete the installation on your computer. This is just one of the many benefits of getting a checkers software on the internet.

In addition, you will be spoilt for choice if you attempt to locate the checkers software online. In recent years, there is an increasing number of gaming websites that offer such software as the market has been growing tremendously. This means that consumers can have more options and can take their time to select one that suits their playing style. It has become a norm for gaming websites to offer trial sessions of their game, to allow the players to test out the software before making their decision to buy. The trial period usually last about 30 days. In most of the cases, the 30 days are sufficient to cause to be addicted to the game. Thus, you will eventually have to subscribe to the paid version in order to fulfill your checkers craving.

There are really no hard and fast rules to getting a copy of the checkers software. It is perfectly alright if you just want to use the trial version to play a quick game of checkers with your friends. Whatever it is, there is only one point that you need to know: the checkers software must be able to suit your playing needs and budget!

Reading Game Choices

Writen by Eriani Doyel

Are you looking for a reading game to help your child who is just learning to read, or who may be struggling with reading? Even children who love to read can also build skills and knowledge with a good reading game. The good news is that there are a wide variety of games on the market today that will help your child with reading skills and knowledge. The only hard part for you is choosing the best reading game for your child. Here are a few tips:

Choose a game that matches your child's age and skill level. If you get a reading game that is too easy, then your child will be bored and will not build any skills. If you get a game that is too hard, your child will be frustrated and will not build any skills. Each reading game should be rated for age level on the package, but if your child is struggling, you should also look at the content of the game to make sure that the skills on the game are appropriate. For instance, if your child is just learning to recognize letters, you should not get a game that works on comprehension.

Next, choose a reading game that has more than one skill level or type of activity-a game that will "grow" with your child as they get new knowledge and skills. As your child gets better, it can introduce new rules and obstacles that have to be met and overcome. If there is more than one type of activity, there will be a greater level of interest.

A good place to find a reading game is to look on educational sites. If they do not have games on them already, they may have suggestions, ratings and recommendations for games that will build reading skills in your child. A lot of times the games on these sites are even free.

The last point that you should consider when choosing any educational game for your child, is that you should make sure that it is fun. If it is not fun, your child will not want to play it and it will not do them any good. Whether it is a computer game or a board or card game it should be challenging but not too hard and it should have surprises and incentives that are appealing to the age of child that is playing.

Playing The Different Variants Of Backgammon

Writen by Sky Joe

If you are a frequent player of backgammon, the different variants of the game should not be unfamiliar to you. There are a few backgammon variants but only the roll-over is commonly used. The roll-over is actually a variant that was introduced by Richard Frey in 1960s.

The roll-over is used often because it adds strategy, reduces the element of luck and reduce frustration. It also provides additional interest and excitement to the game. However, it should be limited to one for each player each game and must be agreed upon by all players or the tournament director before it is adopted in a session. Apart from the roll-over, there are other variants such as chouette, opening roll and the beaver. They are explained in greater detail in this article.

Roll-Over Once during the game, each player can decide either to roll again or to have his opponent roll again. A player must decide to roll again before he picks up his dice; that is, before he completes his turn. A player can wait until his opponent completes his turn (seeing how he moves) before deciding to have the opponent roll again. The opponent cannot double before rolling again; he must wait until the next turn to double. Each player starts each game with a roll-over marker and removes it from the board when he exercises his roll-over option.

Chouette In a chouette, one person plays against two or more people. A chouette can be interesting and sociable. If there are four or more players, a mini-contest can be conducted in which the players paired up to play one against one in each round instead of playing a chouette. If a chouette is appropriate, one person, who is in the box, plays against the other two. One person of the two-player team is the captain. The players of the two-player team jointly decide their moves and roll-over usage. If they cannot agree, the captain makes the decision.

The best way to play a chouette is to play a three-set match where the players rotate each set. Each player is the individual player(in the box), the captain, and the teammate for one set. Each player of the two-player team receives the points that they win in the set. The player that wins the most points in the three sets is the winner of the match.

Opening Roll In this variant, the opening roll, where each player rolls one of his dice, merely determines which player starts first. The player that wins the opening roll then rolls both of his dice to make his first move. In some uses of this variant, the player that wins the first turn can choose to play that roll or roll both of his dice. This allows the possibility of doubles for the first moves of the games and gives the player that wins the added advantage.

Beaver For this variant, the player that is doubled can accept, redouble and retain possession of the cube, if he does so before the doubling player rolls. The beaver doesn't make sense for players who know the proper double strategy because a player should normally have more than a 70% chance of winning the game to double. The doubled player would be crazy to redouble with less than a 30% chance of winning the game.

The Ps3 Games Mystery

Writen by Carver Tate

The news is out: the PS3 games console is to be launched simultaneously around the globe in November 2006. But despite the grand global launch plan for the PS3 games console, there are doubts about its impact on the market. Even more, game analysts doubt if this global launch can help Sony regain lost market because of the earlier release of Microsoft's Xbox 360. There are also many speculations why the new PS3's launch keeps getting delayed.

Though Sony claims that the delays were due to digital rights management or DRM troubles, many analysts believe otherwise. Analysts pose more pressing issues as reasons for the PS3 games console's launch delays. Eiichi Katayama, an analyst from Tokyo-based Nomura Securities' Financial & Economic Research, suggests that the delays are probably caused by the slow progress of graphics chip development. Others offer reasons such as insufficiency of appropriate software titles. However, Sony is quick to dismiss these rumors and again reiterated the problem of DRM for their Blu-ray optical drive.

Blu-ray chips provide the new console with removable PS3 storage capacity that is five times bigger than the storage provided by DVDs of older consoles. Reports that PS3's Blu-ray and DRM feature are almost finished make them unlikely causes of delays. According to Katayama, ROM mark and BD+ licensing have already started which make copy protection technology an implausible reason. Analysts believe that if DRM technology really cause the delay, the profit from PS3 games console would not suffer too much. However, if the reasons are as they believe -- graphics chip development -- the sales impact would probably be the worst in Sony's history.

Sony contradicts the analysts' measure of the situation and denies that the delays set the PS3 games console and the company at a disadvantage behind Microsoft and Xbox 360. Xbox 360 hit the stores last year and is still the top gaming console according to market trends. Jennie Kong, Sony's European branch's PR manager, defends the company's strategy and claims that the company doesn't allow itself to be dictated by their competitors' moves. However, history supports the analysts' views of the matter. It can be recalled that Microsoft and Sony had once faced the same situation, only this time, Sony has the advantage with the early release of their PS2 over the first Xbox. Current Analysis' Steve Kovsky reminds that at that time, Microsoft suffered huge losses; clearly, Sony is slated for the same fate with PS3.

If Sony pushes for the November 2006 launch, it gives the Xbox 360 a full year sales advantage. However, the PS3 games franchise's problem does not end with the launch's delays. Rumors and news are circulating that even before its game console's launch, Sony is planning to outlaw its resale. Different sources claim that Sony plans to sell the new consoles with their own individual licenses. This effectively prohibits second-hand sales in person or in online shops like Amazon.com and eBay.com. In essence, buyers are only purchasing the license to use the consoles; Sony still holds the proprietorship of the product. Game analysts comment that this is a logical move, if proven true. Sony would need all the push it can have to increase the sales of individual PS3 units.

The company refrains from making comments about the allegations no licensing. They maintain that all important announcements have been made during the E3 trade show and all other announcements would be made on the PS3 games console launch. This announcement, instead of putting a stop to the rumor mill only fuel the fire. But as it is, there is nothing gamers can do but just play their PS3 games and wait.

The 2 Most Crucial Skills In Game Testing

Writen by Matthew Roberts

There are two major skills that are absolutely crucial for a game tester to have.

I'd even go as far to say that even with all your qualifications and experience, without these skills you'd find it very hard to get a game testing job.

What are they you ask?

1. You must be able to communicate effectively.

I'll put in another way for you:

You must have great communication skills. By this I mean you need to be able to express exactly what your thoughts are so that everybody is on the same terms and knows how to go about fixing the issue.

2. You must be able to transfer these good communication skills into your writing.

When programmers are reading your bug report, they need to know exactly what the problem is and how to reproduce it. They don't want to waste any time trying to understand what you have written.

Your writing needs to be clear enough that anybody in could pick up the bug report and understand what the problem is and how to fix it.

Now don't get me wrong, none of that is easy to do, even for those that are natural speakers or writers. But there are a few relatively easy exercises you can do to improve your communication and writing skills.

Exercise 1

This exercise involves choosing a simple object (such as a paper clip, watch, flower etc) and without actually hinting to what the object is, writing a description of how to draw it.

Then see how many people can follow your instructions and draw the object, then correctly guess what they have drawn.

Exercise 2

This is an extension of the previous exercise, but bringing the game testing aspect into it.

Next time you are playing a game and happen to find a cool glitch, rather than just showing your friends, write a description of the glitch and email it to your friends to see if they can reproduce it.

Exercise 3

This exercise simply acts to improve your writing skill, but if you do it correctly you might be able to use it as an example of your expertise in the video game industry.

The exercise involves starting your own blog. You can do this for free at blogger.com

Your blog could include game reviews, latest game news, cheats and tips... and of course descriptions of glitches.

Remember, these exercises don't have to be done all the time (however the more often you do them the better you will become), the key is to develop a simple routine to practice your writing skills.

It's going to take time but when it comes to game testing, you are going to have to do a lot of writing... and the only way to improve your writing is to practice.

Online Flower Deliveries

Writen by Ken Marlborough

Online gaming, i.e. games played over the Internet, originally started with PC games and now includes the latest modern consoles. The first console in the arcade game world was the Sega Dreamcast. The console is now essential to modern arcade games, with the advent of Internet connectivity in consoles such as the PlayStation 2, Xbox and Gamecube; portable consoles such as the PSP that use Wi-Fi; and in mobile/cellular phones.

Online games require multi-player facility; hence, the most popular game genres include massive multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPG), first person shooter (FPS) games, racing/driving games, strategy games, and sports titles, where more than one person can play the game.

A MMORPG is an online computer role-playing game in which a large number of players can interact with or against one another in the same game at the same time. Once a player enters the game world they can engage in a variety of activities with other players ranging from chatting with their friends or other members to teaming up in order to kill enemies or complete complex tasks or quests that are not possible solo.

A first-person shooter (FPS) game is a combat game on PC or video, characterized by the player's on-screen view of the game simulating that of the character. The modern FPS games emerged during the early 1990s, the most popular being Id Software's Wolfenstein 3D and Doom. Doom defined FPS gaming to such an extent that subsequent FPS games were referred to as ""Doom clones"" for a long time.

Today, many independent developers produce arcade games designed specifically for the Internet. Such smaller web-based games, designed with Flash/Javascript/DHTML, run directly on web browsers. These games may not be as large and sophisticated as the PC and console games, and are generally quick to complete by comparison. Some, like Runescape, have expanded and can be considered on par with the bigger PC games.

Nintendo Revolution Price

Writen by Ron Swerdfiger

While on my constant search for new Nintendo Revolution information, I came across some articles speculating the European release date and price tag for Nintendo's next generation gaming console. Of course, this is only a "rumor," and I have not confirmed the date, or the price in any official capacity.

Amazon France has slipped a page with the European release date and price for Nintendo's monumental new game console, the Nintendo Revolution.

The tentative release date for the Nintendo Revolution is listed as June 15, 2006. The total cost after conversion to US dollars, would be approximately $365. European game console prices tend to be a bit priced a higher than in North America, but this still sounds a bit overpriced given the Xbox's $299-$399 price tag. From what we know so far the Nintendo Revolution will be less technologically advanced than the Xbox 360 or Playstation 3.

Based on the GameCube's 2001 launch cycle—it arrived in Europe six months after it debuted in North America. This leak gives credence to rumors that the Revolution could see a surprise 2005 launch in Canada and the US.

Of course, when more "official" information is available for both the release date and price, htt://www.nintendorevolution.ca will let you know.

Ingredients Of Great Educational Computer Games

Writen by Natalie Aranda

It is extremely frustrating to watch our children struggle with their studies. We are constantly trying to help them understand concepts and vocabulary, yet there is only so much that we can do. Luckily, free online games are now hitting the education market. With free educational games, it is easy to get your child to not only understand the concepts that they need, but to also embrace the fun that comes along with learning.

The most important thing that an educational computer game should emphasize on is confidence. Children need to feel like they are accomplishing something! Therefore, by complimenting them when they get an answer right, you are motivating them to continue working hard. Reinforcement is key if you want your child to stay on track. After all, how is a child supposed to feel good about their success if it is never recognized or applauded?

Secondly, the educational game should be challenging. It needs to be full of different levels from easy to difficult. Therefore, a student who has already tackled a specific topic can easily move onto the next one. The last thing you want to do is stop the learning process. This will visually show the player that they are not only improving, but also staying right on track. By comprehending harder concepts and situations, it will make them feel good that they are actually learning.

Although the above factors are very important, the educational game should also be visually enticing. For instance, if your child is in preschool, finding a game with a school atmosphere may be great. There are many free online games that incorporate a preschool setting. This may make your child feel more comfortable and allow them to raise their hand in a realistic situation as well. However, fantasy type games may actually be more exciting for students who crave something other than the normal teaching style. There are many educational games which integrate mystical adventures.

If you are trying to make your child a better student overall, perhaps finding a game that is full of skill would help. There are hundreds of free online games on the internet, but a specific one that usually helps children with their logic is backgammon. This popular game has been around for centuries, and has always helped people with problem solving. Although it somewhat has to do with luck, skill is also required. For that reason, finding a game like backgammon may actually improve your child's overall skill.

No matter what educational game you choose, you must find one that will inspire your child to learn. It is essential that a great learning game consists of motivation, skill, and challenging levels. Without these factors, your child will simply just be playing a regular video game. Even though there is nothing wrong with that, the main concern is that you are helping your child with their struggles. Fortunately, no matter how tight your budget is, there will always be free online games. These will provide you with the tools you need for your child to succeed.

There are hundreds of free online games on the internet, but a specific one that usually helps children with their logic is online backgammon. How To Make Gold In Wow

Writen by Gen Mason

I will help you to find free methods to obtain all the gold you need. Don't allow people to speculate as to what you should do. Follow these steps on how to make gold in WoW and obtain it yourself using the resources I am offering you. With this guide you'll get secrets that only the experienced will know. I'd call them players but rather not for players won't read this guide for help. They'd just play the game to finish it. This is a guide solely for those who want to be knighted and eventually become kings. Let me show you how to make gold in WoW. There are various ways, and no-hassle methods to produce more gold than ever before.

How to make gold in WoW? Well, what you have to do first is head for Felwood. That is east of Darkshore. Heads up! Here you'll find Withered Protectors. These Protectors drop high-level herbs that sell for 10g for about a stack of 20. Engineering is another way to make good money, with high-level explosives that are pretty simple to master. A few soon-to-be-knights buy things such as small bronze bombs for a good amount of money, and these cost more than the mats do. Other items are heavy explosives. Mats for these are comparatively inexpensive and bombs and dynamite are fast sellers! The future ruler, you, must buy dynamite for extra dps. Listen to this guide on how to make gold in WoW and you will become king. Buy a stack of 20 wool cloth (the price seems to have skyrocketed to about 1g in the past couple of months) and a stack of 20 stones. Produce exploding powder and savor the moment! About 5-6g profit will usually be made on dynamite and bombs sales sold on the auction house (AH). You can make around 1000g in a week.

How to make gold in WoW? Here is a quick way to earning about 10g an hour. There is a lone windmill with a tiny shack at its base in the Northwestern Westfall, running along the cliff. Be aware, because it is surrounded by 6-7 Defias mobs, levels 12-13. Like everything in life, this one has strings attached. These Defias mobs respawn instantly. This is the perfect area for grinding and maxing new weapon skills. Farming Linen is another way to go. 100 linen in five minutes is easily obtainable and there are a lot of these little spots in the game. This is definitely a quick way of how to make gold in WoW.

For this level what is required of you is a level 60 Mage with either a Frost Spec with Ice Barrier and improved Arcane Explosion or a Firs spec with a combustion and blast wave. Here I'll show you how to make gold in WoW. Follow these steps: pop yourself in the graveyard instance after heading over to the Scarlet Monastery, then wipeout all the NPCs in the hallway and in the room. If you feel threatened, use the mana shield. Enable Combustion, Blast Wave and Arcane Explosion. Do this until their health is about 15%. Now, carry on through the next corridor and kill as normal Stop once you reach the graveyard. Here you need full health, mana and spirits to pull out. Do the following: Use your Mana Shield with Combustion. Run around, pull around 25 spirits. Avoid any Elites. Stop pulling if you are down to half health. Now, use Mana Potion, Blast Wave and Frost Nova. Now walk away so they can't hit you. By now you have killed loads of spirits, and you will get plenty of money and green items. You can decide to sell these items at the AH or Vendor. Carry on into the building, the one at the end and kill the NPCs and the big boss in here. Go out and reset instance, then go back inside and repeat everything again until your bags are full.

World Of Warcraft Review

Writen by Ruibo Chen

World of Warcraft is by far the best and largest MMORPG out yet. World of Warcraft follows a long history of the original strategy game warcraft. There were 3 popular titles that were released previously that were also an extremely big hit. Warcraft, Warcraft II, Warcraft III and the 2 expansions "The Frozen Throne" and "Reign of Chaos". The release date of the game was on Nov 23, 2004. A year after its release and there are about 4.5 million subscribers and still growing stronger each day world wide.

World of Warcraft takes you to a 3D environment in the World of Azeroth. The World is the largest virtual environment ever created. You can explore through deserts, forests, mountains and more. It may take months before you can finish traveling through all of Azeroth. There are of course mounts such as horses, gryphons and other animals that can help you travel through Azeroth.

Along with the great 3D environment you are able to customize your characters looks in the highest of detail ever possibly invented. There are next to an infinite combination of faces, eyes, texture, size, weight, coloring to choose from. Unlike many other MMORPGs, you're bound to find a twin here and there but the possibilities have gone unlimited with Blizzards character creation.

World of Warcraft consists of 2 fueding realms, the Alliance and the Horde. Each realm may choose from 4 different races. Alliance members may choose Human, Dwarf, Night Elf, and Gnomes while Horde members may choose Orc, Tauren, Troll and Undead. Along with the 8 races there are also 9 classes that you may choose from which are the Druid, Hunter, Mage, Paladin, Priest, Rogue, Shaman, Warlock and Warrior. Each player also has the ability to choose a profession for their character. A profession is very helpful to the players as it may help them create great armors, weapons, items and other equipments. A player may choose 2 primary professions and as many secondary professions as they like.

Blizzard has been updating World of Warcraft much more than their previous games that required connection to Battle.net. Quests, items, fixes and other great enhances are being added or changed to improve gameplay. Unlike other MMORPGs, the quests of WoW are made to help leveling and is much pleasurable. It is not as repetitive as you are required to kill the same monsters and the constant travelling back and forth to speak to a dozen NPCs.

Like most and all MMORPGs, WoW has their own game economy and ingame shop/auction house. Their currency is based on copper, silver and gold. World of Warcraft gold is most commonly used to purchase weapons, armors, items, skills, spells and travelling. While selling back items to a NPC shop is easy, the returns are unfavorable. Majority of the players would sell off their unwanted items to other players at a highest rate than what the NPCs will offer.

PvP has been by far the most thrilling theme of most MMORPGs. World of Warcraft includes PvP servers and non PvP servers. As Blizzard continues to update the game, their most recent patch included the battle grounds. A zone where the Horde and Alliance comes together and competes. The winner will receive special rewards and methods of increasing their overall character status.

Blizzard has taken ideas from many different games and combined them all into 1. It has yet been by far the most successful MMORPG to this day and still growing rapidly. With a subscriber base of 4.5 million players world wide, I'm sure the game will continue to be popular for over a decade.
